Pistons at Magic, Predators at Flyers, Penguins at Blues, Sabres at Oilers
There is a light slate of games on Thursday but the action that we will see is going to be top-notch. Let’s dive into odds and predictions for Thursday.
Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic
The Detroit Pistons hit the road to take on the Orlando Magic in what is a contest between two of the worst teams in the NBA. The Pistons are 18-51 on the season, while the Magic are 18-52. You can usually find an edge in the home and away records, but you cannot in this contest.
The Pistons are 7-28 on the road and the Magic are not much better at home at 8-25. The Pistons have been skidding hard as they are 0-5 in their last five games while the Magic are 2-3. This is where the Pistons should get back on track. Take the Pistons to cover the +3.5 point spread.
Nashville Predators at Philadelphia Flyers
The Nashville Predators and the Philadelphia Flyers could not be having much more of a different season this year. Nashville is 35-21-4 on the season, while Philadelphia is 18-30-11 on the season thus far. Nashville is still jockeying for playoff position while Philadelphia is trying to get themselves out of the division basement. However, the Flyers have not helped themselves recently as they are on a three-game skid. Meanwhile, the Predators have been playing great, winning four of their last five. Take the Predators to cover the -1.5 puck line in this one.
Pittsburgh Penguins at St. Louis Blues
The Pittsburgh Penguins hit the road on Thursday as they travel to face off with the St. Louis Blues. The Penguins are 36-16-9 on the season, while the Blues are 34-17-8. Both of these teams are having very good years and are looking to better their playoff seeding with a win in this one.
Even though the end of the season is a few weeks away, games like this one are what really prepare teams for the playoffs. It is even better if you are able to win the regular-season games against very good teams. The Blues has been very good at home this year, and I expect that to continue. Take the Blues to cover the +1.5 puck line.
Buffalo Sabres at Edmonton Oilers
The Buffalo Sabres have a meeting with the Edmonton Oilers in Canada on Thursday evening. The Oilers have been turning some heads in their last few games as they have shown flashes of putting it all together. The Sabres, however, have not as they sit at 20-32-8 on the year. The Oilers are 33-23-4, but that does not seem like an indication of how solid they have really been this year. It is tough to pick against the home team and even tougher when the home team has been playing well. Take the Oilers to cover the -1.5 puck line.
Enjoy the games! Best of luck!
