After a strong 10-0 run that extended their lead from 69-64 to 79-64, the Suns seemed in control. However, Atlanta fought back, outscoring Phoenix 33-30 in the 4th quarter to seal the win.
The Wizards Look To Bounce Back From A Loss
The Wizards dropped to 6-32 on the season after a 120-106 home loss to the Timberwolves on Monday. Washington was a +14.5 point underdog but managed to cover the spread, losing by 14. The total points for the game were 226, just over the pre-game line of 223.5.
Washington trailed 25-20 after the 1st quarter but stayed close, winning the 2nd quarter 27-26 and the 3rd 32-31. Heading into the 4th quarter, they were down 82-79, but Minnesota went on an 11-0 run, extending the lead from 93-89 to 100-93, and outscored the Wizards 38-27 in the final period.
Suns Offense Breakdown
Devin Booker and Kevin Durant carried the offensive load for the Suns in their loss to the Hawks, with Booker knocking down 7 threes at a 50% rate and finishing with 35 points, 14 of which came in the 4th quarter. Durant added 31 points, also scoring 14 in the 3rd, and shot 65% from the field.

Defensively, the Suns struggled in the 1st and 4th quarters, giving up 33 points in each, as they allowed 122 points in a loss to the Hawks. Phoenix did manage to hold Atlanta to 43% shooting from the field.
The Suns had trouble defending the perimeter, with the Hawks hitting 17 threes at a 41% clip. Phoenix also sent Atlanta to the line 26 times, where they made 19 free throws. The Suns gave up 20 offensive rebounds but recorded 10 steals.
Wizards Team Defense
The Suns gave up 122 points to the Hawks on Tuesday, with 33 points allowed in both the 1st and 4th quarters. They did manage to tighten up in the 3rd, holding Atlanta to 25 points. Overall, the Hawks shot 43% from the field.
From beyond the arc, the Suns allowed 17 threes on 41% shooting. They also sent the Hawks to the line 26 times, where Atlanta converted 19 free throws. Phoenix finished with 31 defensive rebounds but allowed 20 offensive boards, while also recording 10 steals and 4 blocks.
