After a rough 2nd quarter where they were outscored 27-14, the Suns rallied in the 3rd, holding Dallas to 17 points while scoring 25. However, they couldn’t complete the comeback, as the Mavericks edged them 26-25 in the final quarter.

The Warriors Look To Bounce Back From A Loss

The Warriors fell to 15-15 on the season after a 102-92 road loss to the Clippers on Friday. Golden State entered the game as +5.5 point underdogs and failed to cover the spread. The total points for the game were 194, falling well short of the 212.5 O/U line.

Golden State’s 14-0 run extended their lead from 85-67 to 99-67. The Warriors started strong, leading 21-19 after the 1st quarter, but the Clippers took control in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, outscoring the Warriors 62-41. Golden State made a push in the 4th, winning the quarter 30-21, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit.

Trayce Jackson-Davis added 15 points and 9 rebounds, also shooting 58.3%. Moses Moody contributed 11 points. Kuminga scored 15 points in the 4th quarter, while Jackson-Davis and Moody added 6 and 7 points, respectively, in the final period.

Suns Team Defense

Despite the Suns’ strong defensive effort, holding the Mavericks to 98 points, they couldn’t come away with the win. Phoenix gave up 28 points in the 1st quarter and 27 in the 2nd, but tightened up in the 3rd, allowing just 17 points. Dallas scored 26 in the 4th to seal the victory.

The Suns held the Mavericks to 43% shooting overall, including 35% from three-point range, with Dallas hitting 12 threes. The Mavericks also went 16/17 from the free-throw line. Phoenix gave up 7 offensive rebounds while recording 11 steals and 7 blocks.

Warriors Team Defense

Even with a strong defensive effort, the Suns couldn’t pull out the win against the Mavericks, allowing 98 points on 43% shooting. Their best defensive quarter came in the 3rd, where they held Dallas to just 17 points.

Phoenix did well defending the perimeter, as the Mavericks hit 12 threes on 35% shooting. The Suns also recorded 11 steals and 7 blocks in the game.
