Villanova Wildcats at Creighton Bluejays Friday, December 17, 2021
We saw a couple of big games this past weekend and some really high-intensity games. We had a few upsets this past week and a ton of really good games. The conference slate is starting to creep into the picture for a majority of teams, and now is when the real basketball gets underway.
This is going to be a very good week of basketball leading up to the holiday. There are a few really good conference matchups this week. If we have learned anything so far is that no team is safe this year.
We will take a look at five games from this upcoming week and break down the matchup and who has the edge coming into the game.
Big East Matchup #6 Villanova Wildcats at Creighton Bluejays
The Villanova Wildcats travel to take on the Creighton Bluejays on Saturday night in what should be a really good Big East matchup. Villanova is currently ranked the #6 team in the country and is one of the most well-rounded groups in college basketball this year.
Creighton has fallen in two tough games, but they are once again very good. It is always tough to go on the road and play at Creighton as well. Both teams are scoring over 70 points a game and allowing under 70 points a game. Creighton is scoring 49 percent from the floor, while Villanova is shooting 42 percent from the floor.
Look for the star players to take over in this one. Villanova’s Collin Gillespie is scoring 17.3 points a game, while Creighton’s Ryan Hawkins is scoring 13.3 points a game. Both of these players are used to playing on a big stage and should come through and perform in this one.
If Creighton can get a win, it would be a huge boost for them into conference play this year. I lean Creighton in this one to cover the spread.
