Clemson’s offense was unstoppable in their 66-20 win over Appalachian State, racking up 712 total yards and 28 first downs. The Tigers’ ground game was effective, gaining 252 yards and scoring four touchdowns, while their passing attack was equally impressive, accumulating 460 yards and five touchdowns.

Quarterback Cade Klubnik was nearly perfect, completing 92.3% of his passes for 378 yards and five touchdowns, resulting in a passer rating of 158.33. Phil Mafah led the rushing attack with 118 yards on 10 carries, and Bryant Wesco Jr. was the top receiver with 130 yards on three receptions.

NC State’s defense allowed just 341 total yards in their most recent game, with Louisiana Tech managing only 12 first downs. The Wolfpack’s run defense was particularly strong, holding Louisiana Tech to 60 rushing yards on 18 attempts. In the passing game, NC State gave up 281 yards and one touchdown through the air, with one interception.

Clemson’s defense will be looking to tighten up after allowing 424 passing yards and 515 total yards in their most recent game. The Tigers did manage to pick off two passes, but they gave up 66 points to Appalachian State. The Mountaineers had 25 first downs and 515 total yards, but Clemson’s run defense was solid, holding them to just 91 yards on the ground.

Our projections for this week four matchup between Clemson and NC State suggest that even though Clemson will win, NC State is the better bet against the spread. With Clemson being favored by -20.5 points, we have the final score at 26-17 in favor of Clemson, but NC State should cover the spread as road underdogs.

Looking at the over/under line of 47 points, we would lean towards the under, as our projections have the combined score at 43 points.
